I'm off to Paris!

I'm sure it will be just like this.

Converted church in the Hudson Valley

Mismatched chairs done right.

Despite my phobia of floating shelves, I must admit these look pretty great.

I need some rest

My job seems to be monopolizing my life and wrecking my sanity. Despair! Thankfully, I'm about to leave on vacation.

In other news, I love this photo. The contrast between the brick walls, the black and white floral linens and the blue lamp really works for me.

Converted garage

An ode to living small. I like all the custom metalwork she has.

Parisian quirky

Frequently I find "quirky" spaces to be overly cutesy and annoying. But I'm loving this one, painted wood pile and all. Of course, herringbone floors and Serge Mouille lamps help.

Nice mix

A house in Texas with an appealing personality and a blue dining room.

Wasn't I just talking about battered leather?

Laid-back Parisian chic

If you have high ceilings and beautiful old crown molding, it's so much easier to pull off a casual look.

Ditto the fabulous old wallpaper.

Just a few more weeks and I'll be in Paris!

You know how sometimes you see a great interior and you wish you could see more? Well, today I've gotten my wish. Last year I was charmed by the home of Sean MacPherson, featured in the Times. And now I've gotten to see lots more of it — like this beautifully battered Chesterfield sofa. (I love me some battered leather.)

The tile in the kitchen was my favorite thing from the original shoot.

But I really like his overall style.

Thing update

In other apartment news, I spray-painted that thing black, making it the second black shiny thing to show up at my apartment this week. No question that I prefer the black to the faux-bronze look it was sporting before, but I'm still not 100% sold. In the meantime, it's keeping my Noguchi lamp company.

Fan girl

It's no secret that I'm a fan of Roman and Williams, and I recently discovered tons of new pictures of their work. This is their Montauk home, which I previously featured here but must expand on, because this is seriously my dream home*.

Bedroom.

Kitchen.

Studio.

Guest bedroom. Isn't this like the most perfect beach house guest bedroom ever? Please invite me to stay!!!

*this week.

Illustrious paneling

So when exactly did wood paneling stop being associated with basement rec rooms and start showing up in super-stylish homes? I think the look needs to be balanced out with other wall treatments, but high-quality paneling is a trend I'm liking.

Check out that cabinet in the bottom photo! Oooh.

Welcome home baby

My new floor lamp has finally made it to my apartment. It's a Jieldé Loft floor lamp in shiny, shiny black. I've had my eye on this lamp for a long time and even featured one in my second-ever post here at Roseland Greene. I am very happy with it!

And I was able to find someone to adopt my old lamp, so I don't have to worry about it crying on the curb.

Black wall and green lamp

A hotel in Mexico. I really like the look of this hanging bedside light. I also like that you can clearly see where the switch is. I feel like I see so many pictures of bedside lights that look like you have to get out of bed to turn them off.
