Simplicity and strong color.(Side note: I have this weird aversion to big floating shelves like these. Somehow I always imaging them toppling over and pulling a giant gash out of the wall. It's a phobia!)

My home "office" is this shade of blue, although more of a flat finish. I do like the simplicity against the background of bold color. Wish I had such restraint.
Ha. I slept underneath 3 such shelves in my Brooklyn days. Stupid. I don't think I ever slept very well with subconscious fears of death by toppling books!
