I love old signs (as anyone who had traveled with me knows), but I have sort of mixed feelings about them being used for decor. Salvaging some old bit of vernacular craftsmanship to fill up a loft was once an exciting notion, but I think the chintzy "antique letters" peddled by Pottery Barn or Anthropology have somewhat cheapened the effect.from Design*Sponge

Applebees, also, may have ruined a great many antiques for me. But then again, it's all about contrast and context.
