No, not the art wall (and that's a shocker, coming from me). Not the Ant chair. Not the Random light. Not the task lamp (although it's a pretty great-looking task lamp). And not even the dog.
It's the rug. The way the rug balances the other elements, warms them and humanizes them.
I'm so serious.

When I see an image like this, my heart beats a little faster. Am I crazy or what? Loooooove it. . .
This is a great-looking space no matter what your favorite part may be. For me it's not the rug nor even the dog (although I do enjoy dogs in my rooms) but the art wall. I love it. I think it's the contrast and variety among the different sized frames and the different kinds of images. Is that a necklace on the lower right? So interesting! I want a closer look.
Yay, I was right! I stopped scrolling down after I read your question, and thought "the rug, it's gotta be the rug!" It really is the icing on the cake. Such a lovely, pulled together space.
I totally see what you mean... though I respectfully submit that the Random light is also ungodly hot. I would put them in every project if I could.
