Agreed, filing this idea away right now!
I've made these, but affixed to regular, inexpensive store-bought shades for more heat/UV protection.
so fun! my mother-in-law actually suggested this when i picked up 3 identically sized vintage roller-style school maps at a flea market with her...initially i thought they'd make great "headboards" over kids' beds..or a beautiful statement in a huge stairwell...but i just love the light coming through these!
