Here is the "before" of his rental apartment. It actually looks a lot like my kitchen. How can he improve it without making structural changes and keeping everything portable?

Here's the after. I'm not going to go into the mysteries of how that tiled backsplash is portable (let alone a landlord that allows cabinets to be painted black), the point is,
another black kitchen! Why am I so hooked on black kitchens these days? I don't particularly like anything else about this decor.

The strangest/gutsiest thing he did was sprucing up his old appliances with stripes. It kind of works doesn't it?
