I like it when bookcases run over doors. from Petra Bindel
I was really struck by this photo by Famapa of the wonderful blog, My Funny Eye. How is it the table looks so good, after the meal has been served? There's just a lot of great pieces (on a super tablecloth). It makes me want to rethink all my housewares and go all modern, graphic and colorful. Too bad I already have housewares coming out my ears! Only my Aalto glasses fit the bill.
Beautiful blue paint that combines wonderfully with the other colors in the room and really makes the art pop. Probably tough to pull off in real life, though.
I'm heading up to Portland, Maine for a long weekend tomorrow, and that seems an excellent excuse to run this classic Wary Meyers dining room. I still love it!
Ah, I totally love this Josef Frank headboard. This is pretty much exactly what I would do with such a fabric, if I had a bedroom. The rest of the room is spare, to give the fabric its due.
Another room in the same home. Great play of textures!
I like how the little half wall defines the bed's space in a larger area.
The Times ran one of my favorite features today: "Who Lives There," this time about a tiny Greenwich Village apartment that I've often gazed at from the street (it's above Tea & Sympathy, one of my favorite breakfast spots). Now I know that the place is rented by a very chic woman who works for Barney's. It's 350 square feet and a fourth floor walkup, but still pretty awesome.
High ceilings, window-wrapping bookshelves, Prouve chairs, doggie. What's not to like?
